Drive to Koh Chang. A journey that must be endured before reaching the destination.

Have you ever done something that was so hard for you to get???

Sometimes we felt that traveling to Koh Chang gives exactly the same feeling!!

The first time our family traveled to Koh Chang had to go back almost 13 years ago. At that time, our son IM was just only 4 months old. Now this is the 4th time we get here, but why does it have to be Koh Chang?

Koh Chang is a tourist destination that is not too far away from Bangkok (at least that what I thought) because when you look at the distance it is only 365 kilometers. If you have 2-3 days, Koh Chang seems to be one of Among the interesting options...why?

Because here there is the sea, waterfalls, and many activities. Whether you go diving, squid fishing, kayak, or walking, you can do it all in one place. You can also, take the car across the ferry to the island. Travel with peace of mind.

The only problem that makes me feel intimidated about go to Koh Chang (but I often forget) every time is the route. Because the road going to Trat Province, from Bangkok, will pass through the motorway. Which of course costs the expressway along the way. Until it splits into the Klaeng district line. Actually, it's still not that much. But the problem starts from here.

The Klaeng line running to Trat has a lot of intersections and a lot of red lights. It's separated from one another. You'll found it again and again. There were so many that I thought to myself, is this still not finished? I think there must have been more than 10 red light intersections.

And if you miss one red light at any time, the AI system at each red light intersection (Just kidding there's no such a thing in this country yet) will be designed to make you miss the green light at the next intersection again.

What the..., I mean really!!!

If you plan to travel in a relaxed manner, drive comfortably, keep looking at the scenery. I recommend traveling to the south instead, haha, because this road will really test your patience. Both the driver and the passenger.

When we reached the ferry pier, we waited to board the ferry to Koh Chang. If we're lucky there aren't too many cars, then we'll have to wait a bit and then we'll be able to drive up to the ferry. On one occasion, we had to get into a new line and it turned out to be the front-most car in the middle of the ferry. That time, we almost didn't get out of the car because when we looked out from inside the car, it felt like our car was floating on the sea, which was fun in another way.

About 30-35 minutes the boat will take us to Koh Chang. There is a Welcome to Koh Chang sign in front. It's like telling us that congratulations...we've finally arrived.
